Introduction
Oral and maxillofacial surgery and periodontics requires additional years of training after graduation from a five-year dental school program.
To become an Oral and Maxillofacial surgeon, Dr. Manuel La Rosa completed four years in a postgraduate residency program and a one-year fellowship in Advanced Head Neck Surgery after graduating from dental school.
Dr. Silvia La Rosa completed a three-year postgraduate program in Periodontics and then earned a certificate as a Diplomate from the Board of the American Academy of Periodontology after she graduated from dental school.
Dr. Manuel La Rosa and Dr. Silvia La Rosa have been involved throughout their careers in community service. Dr. Silvia La Rosa was very active in her native Colombia and currently is involved in caring for under-served people in the Pierce County community. Dr. Manuel La Rosa has traveled to Ecuador and Honduras treating cleft lip and palate and doing oral surgical procedures for those in need.
Dr. M. La Rosa and Dr. S La Rosa care for a wide variety of conditions relating to the mouth, teeth and facial regions.
Together they specialize on the diagnosis and treatment of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, Periodontics, dental implants, pathology, and aesthetics, as well as all aspects of surgical dentistry and anesthesia.
Our combined staff is trained in assisting with oral conscious sedation, intravenous (IV) sedation, or outpatient general anesthesia in our state-of-the-art office setting. Patients are continuously monitored during and after surgery.
