Root Coverage
When the roots of your teeth have become exposed not only the gum has receded but also your bone, which needs the protection of the gum, follows the loss. The prime reason to treat recession is to prevent bone loss and concomitant gum recession.
Exposed roots are more susceptible to plaque buildup and root decay. The roots may become sensitive to touch, brush, cold foods and liquids.
The tooth may also be aesthetically unpleasing as the exposed root can make the tooth appear too long creating an imbalance in the harmony of the teeth and gums. Gum recession can predispose to worsening recession. The expose root surface, which is softer than enamel can lead to root caries and root gouging.
During a root coverage procedure, Dr. Silvia La Rosa transfers gum tissue from your own mouth or another donor source to cover the exposed root. This procedure can be done as needed for one tooth or multiple teeth reducing and most of the times if the bone support permits eliminating the exposure of the roots.

I'd reiterate that everybody was pleasant and cheerful and took a moment to make contact. I really appreciate it. That's a huge part of healthcare that can go away with the continued push for efficiency. Don't let those moments of contact go away. Fight hard to keep them.

An amazing place to go for your dental needs! both Doctors are SUPER nice and easy going. They truly know what they are doing. The staff members make you feel very comfortable and are very efficient and amicable. The staff and the doctors explain all the procedures thoroughly before taking action. I have been treated in 2 of the 3 offices and the places are also fantastic, clean and well decorated. They make it fun too! If you need to have something done in your mouth, this is the place to go! I highly recommend this place and the team to anyone.
